Calling all Agassiz Students, Parents and Teachers to Help Agassiz!
Raise dollars and move too – the walk-a-thon is a great event to exercise and help fund great activities for the school!Each student will walk around the schoolyard event day keeping track of how many laps.
How it works-
1. Use the Agassiz pledge form to record the pledges you secure from your friends, your parent’s co-workers, neighbors and relatives. Supporters may either pledge an amount per lap (ex. $2 per lap), which will be collected after the walk so you can tell them how many laps you did or they can simply pledge a flat rate for participating. Flat rates can be collected right away if possible. Credit card donations can made online at http://www.active.com/donate/agassizwalkathon09 Students with the help of your parents can set up your own fundraising page too. The web page you set up will have the same address above but a /your name will be added to the end. All student web pages will link to the main Walk-a-thon site. Parents- Go to the above link and click on “Become a Fundraiser” to get started.. See attached step-by-step screen prints of the site for more info. Once you set up your own page you can email friends, relatives. Parent’s email your co-workers! If a donor would like to donate by credit card either send them to your web page or the main web page above. If you send them to the main web page, make sure to record the donor’s name on your pledge form so you get credit for the donation.
2. On event day bring your completed pledge form with you. Plus, if you create your own web page, print out your page on the website to show how much money you raised with credit card donations!
3. A copy of the pledge form will be returned to you after the event with a record of the number of laps walked so you can collect your lap donations and any flat donations you still have not received.
4. After the event, collect the pledge money from your donors and return to Agassiz no later then Tuesday, October 13th.
All students that participate will receive a goody bag including a pedometer!
Water and snacks will be available.
Great Prizes will be awarded:
- Top 3 students with the most individual dollars raised
- Classroom with the most dollars raised.
